BANDANA BABE

Hey guys! Happy Sunday and happy weekend! Hope everyone’s weekend has been amazing! It was gorgeous weather here today in Bermuda! Today’s post is actually yesterday afternoon’s look.

So, I’m not sure what to call this look but we can just go with “off duty” chic! All I know is, these are currently some of my favorite new items in my Spring wardrobe- especially my bandana (from HERE / HERE). Accessorizing with a colourful, printed bandana or neckerchief is one easiest ways to take a comfy casual or basic look to the next level. I also really like how it looks with any type of denim: jeans, skirts, and overalls but I absolutely love pairing it back to stripes! Bandanas are a nice way to add colour, interest and dimension to your outfit in an easy and affordable way. Tie one on your bag, under a collared shirt, around your wrist! Mix it up and have fun with it!

How are you having fun with fashion this spring? I thought I’d share my favorite ways to tie a neckerchief or bandana at the moment…

What I wore: Top: Rag & Bone, Pants: Bailey 44, Bag: French Connection, Bandana: Chan Luu, Sunglasses: Sunday Somewhere, Shoes: Vince

Hope you have a great Sunday evening and thanks for checking out my post! See ya! Xx

MATCH ME IF YOU CAN.

Hi guys! Here’s yesterday’s comfy Sunday look-I just wanted to be comfy but I still wanted to rock my new TopShop pinafore dress. We went for an amazing Sunday walk with the pup and BF, after I spent the morning brunching with two of my favorite girls, Riley (@lifeofrileyrose) and Dacotah (@dacotahbaksh)- it was such a beautiful Sunday here- Bermuda truly never seizes to amaze me!

I love pinafore dresses but make it pink and velvet I most definitely have to have it. I’m sure you would all agree when we first heard velvet was coming back, we thought it wouldn’t stick around- am I wrong? It would just be a trend that passes quickly and isn’t seen for years later again, did anyone else have that feeling? (Think we might have been wrong- looks like velvet is here to stay even through upcoming seasons as we are already starting to see.) It’s one of my favorite things to see when an old trend comes back and really sticks around! When I wear velvet I tend to like to keep the rest of my outfit minimal- i love how velvet is somehow always a good statement all on its own! That’s why I kept it simple when pairing this super cute pink pinafore dress from TopShop (find them here) with a plain black T and some super simple black glove booties. When it comes to wearing colour, I struggle. I know where I stand with black, white and grey and that’s why I love soft pastel colors like this pink- it makes wearing colors a lot easier and really quirks up a boring all neutral outfit.

Having a mostly all black wardrobe, I tend to buy more things that go with what I currently wear- which basically means I’m still in that all black circle. While darker shades will probably always be my most loved, I am trying to add some more colour to my life like soft pinks like this super cute pinafore dress. Recently, I’ve been loving pastel tones alongside my usual favourites – tans, blacks, whites and greys.

For when I really can’t step away from my beloved neutrals I’ve got a couple of pairs of shoes and accessories in nudey-pastel shades. I know they are not necessarily bright statement pieces but when paired with similar colors you don’t look like your forever dressed like I’m in mourning or some sort of ninja. For Spring, I’m going to try and venture into more pastels.

What spring trends are you currently eyeing up? You know what I really can’t wait for is those velvet pink Joie slides that will be coming to atelerie this early spring that I featured in my last post. Here

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and I hope this was a pick me up from the Monday blue- thanks for checking in!

WEEKEND WHITES

Happy Sunday! Just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of one of my favorite white blouses at the moment! Love absolutely everything about it, from the very classic color, to the bell sleeve and casual yet vintage girly silhouette!

I love that there is beauty all around Bemuda all the time and I just wanted to show a little taster in the way that you’ll find beauty growing all over the island- and the weather (although a tad unpredictable) is beautiful enough to bare some skin now and just getting warmer and warmer day by day, ready for summer! It is a place that makes you daydream, a tropical haven- I love embarrassing Bermuda’s finest areas in my blog post just to show off how truly amazing my island really is!     This look can be worn on weekend outings, to lunch with girlfriends with a wedge or even out for a day of adventure if you swapped out the white flats for some comfy flip flops or sandals. I plan on wearing it that way as well with some new strappy sandals and shorts I just purchased- this top is a perfect transitional piece!   I like that this outfit is nothing fussy or overdone about it. Just me in my most bare and comfortable element- with enough small detail in the shirts silhouette that makes the outfit that little more dressy and up to trend then a basic white shirt. The bell sleeve is everywhere now and seems to be a key trend going though summer. I love the way if gives that structured girly feel without even having to bring in a pattern of any sort into the outfit- it’s a statement all on its own.

I love my Asha by ADM accessories as well because they really pair well with my Bermuda inspired backdrop- with the island’s silhouette cut out into the Mother of Pearl; this detailed accessory truly matches anything and is a great statement piece to have.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It’s a bit gloomy here in Bermuda but the sun is trying to peek it’s way through the clouds- fingers crossed we get some much loved Bermuda sun soon!

What I wore: Rebecca Taylor Blouse, Frame Denim, Asha Bangle & Ring and Clare V Clutch (Atelerie), River Island Flats, Ray Ban Sunglasses.

HELLO MAY

I know everyone envisions the 90s denim mini and usually cringes at the thought of them- but the denim mini is back, still with the old school flare, but minus the gross low rise styles and boxy shapes. The button down, 70s inspired, denim skirts are currently trending and work well with so many different looks. I love pairing this vintage style with stripes or lace up tops- or combine both like I have here for a truly fun, flirty, updated 70s look! I know we are all craving warmer weather now and this outfit really creates that summery feel your longing for.  Add in the little, but significant details, like I have with this beautiful Marie Turnor Cork clutch rose gold details and chunky wooden heels to complete the look! Possibly my favorite detail are these Feragamo Sunnies! Bermuda sun is not a joke, and in the past I’ve made a mistake of going without sunnies, which makes seeing tough- that’s why I make sure there is always a pair with me, a daily essential really! Although I’ve paired this outfit with heels because, naturally, I’m more drawn to heels and wear them when ever I can because I’m so little; but this outfit could also be paired to some gladiator sandals to give this it a much more easy-going, nonchalant appeal.    Hope everyone has enjoyed their week so far! I can’t believe where time is flying! But I’m not complaining that the weekend is almost here again- that’s for sure!

EASTER WEEKEND IN BERMUDA

Happy Thursday!! I can’t believe it’s Good Friday and Easter is this weekend already- I can’t wait! In our house growing up there were always two holidays my mom made a big deal of; Christmas and Easter. Ugh all the yummy food Easter entails, but most importantly, in Bermuda, the kite making and flying traditions are a must on Easter weekend. Every Easter morning my sister and I would wake up to Easter baskets filled with goodies along with a new dress to wear to church. As you can probably guess this was my favorite part, who doesn’t want a new super cute outfit just for Easter! After church we would fly kites for the rest of the day while devouring hot cross buns and fish cakes all day long as well- in true Bermudian tradition! Some things are a little different now, like I pick my own outfit obviously (with momma contributed opinion, of course) but till this day the kite flying tradition is a must and I love that I can now share this tradition with my niece- time to pick out her Easter dress!
This post I wanted to include my ideal Good Friday and Easter outfits. Whether your off to brunch, flying kites or just enjoying your long weekend in style- these styles are timeless. So, if you celebrate Easter, here are some cute pastel outfit ideas for this weekend!

Easter Sunday signifies that Spring is in full swing. When buying items for Spring, I tend to try and pick key pieces that will last me right through to Summer and beyond. These Cami NYC tops are exactly that! They are super transitional and come in so many different styles and colors; pastels, brights and neutrals- perfect for upcoming seasons. YAY! It’s Spring and I love it!

Easter Sunday means lent is over and we can’t wait to eat dessert again; which means: loads of chocolate! Yay! As mentioned before, it also means loads of beautiful kites to be seen flying high in the sky. I love Good Friday because everyone fills the sky with beautifuly colored kites- a strong tradition in Bermuda.

Rebecca’s Little’s new collection perfectly captures this fun Bermudian tradition! I’m wearing Rebecca Little Jewelry’s newest kite inspired lariat and bracelet. I actually am in love with this new collection. The necklace resembles a hummer kite’s geometric shape but suttle enough were it makes just a really beautiful necklace design but still has key kite details, like its pearl detailed tail, to make it truly unique and a truly meaningful piece. This collection really allows you to wear a little Bermuda history that looks stunning on! The kite design is perfect for the current lariat trend that is still going strong too! Currently obsessing over these designs! Rebecca Little always knows exactly how to add a little Bermudian character through her collections- a key feature I really love about her designs.   If I was asked what looks I would buy for spring, I would defiantly say it would be simple pieces. A pair of white cropped jeans, a lace dress, pastel tops or a great pair of block heels. My style philosophy is that sometimes less is more but it doesn’t have to mean that it’s boring- adding pops of color to your outfit, especially for my personal style, sometimes is just enough! I love this Rebecca Taylor pale blue blouse to get that exact look and add a feminine touch to my wardrobe. Between rose quartz pink and this flattering pale pastel blue, I would say are my color must haves this Spring!

To myself, Easter Sunday means spending time with family & friends. What are some of your favorite Easter family traditions? Don’t forget to fill the sky with color this weekend- traditions are so important! Hope you all enjoy your Easter weekend!

IT’S ‘E’aaasy!

I’ve built a love affair for these products from the moment I bought them and I wanted to get the word out about how lovely these products really are. Not to mention they are all reasonably affordable too!

Vitamin E is an essential Vitamin and works wonders on your skin if added to your daily facial routine. I have combination skin, my t-zone is oily. After reading about The Body Shop’s Vitamin E collection and their own descriptions of the products as well as some other blog reviews really made me want to give it a go!
These amazing skincare products from The Body Shop promises to deliver a healthy-looking glow, long lasting hydration and helps protect your face against everyday damaging effects that you might not even be aware are harming your skin– what more could you wish for in your everyday super simple facial routine?

“…Vitamin E range can help to protect against pollution, cigarette smoke and UVA/UVB rays. Our popular Vitamin E cream and Vitamin E oil are suitable for all skin types and help to protect the skin from premature aging.” –The Body Shop

Those anti-aging properties are jam packed into the eye cube and lip care which I love. People often forget to take proper care of these super sensitive parts of their face, but this is often the areas where you start to age the quickest!
This mask is amazing because it offers instant results- that’s one propriety which everyone wants and looks for in a mask. I have to say this mask does exactly that. The product itself is a jelly-like cream that is really light and cooling on the skin. I have particularly been loving how cooling it is because it leaves my face feeling so fresh! I tend to leave it for a lot longer than the 10 minutes suggested and instead put a light layer before bed let it soak in overnight and my skin feels amazing in the AM!

The moisturizing cream is perfect for everyday and Vitamin E helps to ward off dryness and keep skin hydrated. It helps the skin retain components that keep it hydrated for longer. I usually prefer moisturisers in a pump-bottle, but on a positive side, these masks and moisturizer in a tub means you can be sure that you use up every last drop of product before you have to run to the store and grab some more.

Both the toner and the moisturizer absorbs so quick into my skin, allowing me to easily be able to carry on with the remainder of my morning makeup routine right after! Between all these Vitamin E products they will give your skin a quick boost before you leave the house in the morning, and one that I would highly recommend to all skin types to try! So sensitive skin girls and those girlies with combination skin, I think this Body Shop Vitamin E collection has you covered! I highly recommend everyone to give these products a go!
