Best of Bermuda

Hey! Back to Bermuda and I finally got my hands on a copy of this years Bermudian magazine! So, I want to start off with a huge thank you to the Bermudian Magazine and judges for the Best of Bermuda award for Best Blog/ Social Media Presence 2018 and to all my friends, family and followers for your support in everything and all that I love to do! A very special thank you to my photographer (greatest boyfriend in the world) Marcus Burgess! It’s because of all of you that has helped me receive this award and I appreciate it so much, thank you!

I’m lucky to be able to call Bermuda my home and extremely grateful that I have the best job which allows me to work with amazing brands as well as a gem of an island, so beautiful that it makes it so much more enjoyable to share my outfits, interest and favorite places and views- the aspects of blogging I have so much love for, with you even more rewarding! About this look:

It’s summer time and when it comes to my summer style I love taking in summer and all of its simplicity. I tend to go (even more) minimal when it comes to accessories, lighter on my make up (this foundation works well for me in warmer weather), and I’ve been living in the same slides everyday already and it’s not even mid summer yet!

By the way, if you haven’t already, make sure to plan a visit to Victoire Cafe in St.George’s sometime soon! (You’re welcome trust me!) I would love to see more cute coffee shops and unique cafes like this one pop up more around the island! Just chilling at a beautifully designed coffee shop with great coffee is one of my favorite things to do, as simple as it is!

Bermuda hero’s weekend is over and now Cupmatch is loading and there’s more summer memories to be made! Hope you all had an amazing long weekend! Just thinking about my 10 favorite things and trends at the moment, while scrolling through Pinterest tonight, and thought I’d share them. 

  

6 Resolutions for Two Oh Sixteen!

After recovering from a tiny little huge hangover from New Years, it’s finally time to sit and write this first post of 2016. It’s the first Monday of 2016 I’m starting the 2016 blogging year in the most cliche way: listing down my New Year’s resolutions! It’s nice to finally sit down and have a think about what 2016 means for me, what I want to achieve, when I want to achieve it by, and also taken a little reality filter too … just to make sure i’m not dreaming of things i’ll never quite be able to stick to.

 
1. The typical fitness resolution:

This last year I really let myself down when it comes to health and fitness, having been a committed cheerleader/gymnast throughout my life (during high school and then running a team and being captain for my uni team before leaving uni), a gym & spin frequenter, and generally living an active life style, the last year has seen all my healthy living fade away (sadly I have no real excuse for it really). 2016 is the year to kick start my healthy lifestyle again, not to mention because I want to get rid of the excess weight I’ve gained over this Christmas holiday but also because I want to ensure i’m living the healthiest possible lifestyle I can at the moment. I’m actually not an unhealthy eater so I more so need to concentrate on fitness and toning this year. This year I want to sign up to regular spin, kickboxing or pilates classes and wishful thinking all of them, which I’ll attend each week, as well as aim to go to open gym sessions at the gymnastics gym here and not do some crazy weight loss diet but instead focus on a more healthier lifestyle.

2. Get up early!:

“Wake up an hour earlier to live an hour more!” Some times this is totally not ideal, but if you get up with the time needed to actually do your make-up, style your hair and eat breakfast without running around like a crazy women, you will feel calm, cool, collected and ready to tackle the day when you finally arrive at work. If you take the time out to adjust to a healthy routine and taking care of yourself in the morning, the more likely you will feel better about yourself and feel more productive both in your daily life and hopefully at your job. 

3. Blog goals: 

I love blogging and I genuinely invest everything into this little space sometimes. So pretty self-explanatory but I’d really like to get better at my photography skills in 2016. I really enjoy taking photos but often feel that my photos aren’t up to the right standard for the blogging world, especially night/ indoor photos and this is something I’d like to change this year. Might even take up a class or two! I think the most important blog goal would be to create a better posting schedule this year. Not been my organized self which has meant my posting schedule went out the window. This year I’d like to get back into a routine and get back to being more organized as a whole!

4. Saving and investing in quality staples:

This is probably going to be the hardest for the shopaholic in me but instead of wasting my money on more fashionable and current season trends which will no doubt go out of style in a month or two, I’d like to buy one or two key pieces every once and a while instead that will stand the test of time or can be key transitional pieces, something like a classic leather jacket, a timeless neutral heel or a good quality handbag. Now that I’m finally out of education and into the real working world, it really is time I started saving. My main saving goal is to save to be able to travel more. (Finally make it to New York for the first time, still can’t believe I’ve never been!) There’s so much of the world I have left to see and this year I’d like to make the effort to see more of it or at least save towards it for years to come.  

5. Keep in touch:

I am the worst person for keeping in touch with friends, and now that we live all over and have crazy busy separate lives its more important than ever. I’d like to make more of an effort this year to keep in touch with all of them, both near and far. 

6. Start as you mean to go on:

If you want to start this year being super productive or by really taking care of yourself then now is the time to do it and I really want to stick by this this year! As cliche as it is a new year is it is always the perfect time to get into great new habits. There are always going to be things that come along that are out of your control but, I defo believe that many of us can control how we start our year off!

SUNDAY THOUGHTS

Sunday is definitely like my favorite day of the week. Working all week gives me reason to always make Sundays so laid back, chilled and just do everything a little bit slower. Since this month is moving crazy fast and it’s already the 15th,h ere are my 15 favorite things I like to do on a Sunday:

1. Make crepes.

2. Take Prince for a walk on the beach.

3. Drink crazy amounts of cups of tea.

4. Take pictures.

5. Clean my makeup brushes.

6. Write my to do list for the week.

7. Watch YouTube makeup tutorials.

8. Dream about having every thing on Pinterest.

9. Tryout new beauty product purchases.

10. Paint my nails.

11. Online shop (Secretly, shhh).

12. Watch an Audrey classic.

13. Catch up with friends away.

14. Stretch/ Yoga.

15. Ignore the manic.

FRESH START FEBRUARY

(I know I’ve already posted this, so sorry but it was deleted by accident.)
This new year seemed like it just flew in and January just all seems like a blur now, but it’s never too late to set some resolutions, especially some new daily resolutions within my blog, daily life and health. I thought it be a good time to think about some blog resolutions, we’ll some blog related wishes, to continue from February on. As busy as January has seemed to be just simply organizing myself now, it’ll be easier to stick to my newly set blog routines. Planning so many new blogs is making me realize how excited I am day by day to post some new ones! As much as I want to keep blogging in my everyday routine I also have some daily life and health goals I’m setting.

1. Post more often and keep it as a daily routine
I’m pretty excited to get back into blogging a 100% more on a daily basis, I’ve missed it far too much now! Keeping up with a post a day, because taking breaks just doesn’t really work at all, it’s much easier to keep the creativity and ideas coming. I love blogging and doing it so rarely seems so much harder then keeping up with it to be honest. Just from starting to write blog schedules and ideas down in a notebook for each month, like ootd inspirations or topics I want to post about really can help keep things organized a lot better. Some times it’s hard to imagine putting an idea into a post, like it’s too big of a job, or whatever, so it’s even hard to start the idea but I need to remember just too set a goal to always turn plans into actions and try any kind of blog post to share my ideas through either written post, video post, makeup routine post or even try a day with me kind of post.

2. Say goodbye to sugars
It would be hard to seriously say goodbye forever, but instead just as often as I can will help a lot more. It makes no sense setting a fitness goal without remembering proper diet, and I know for sure there is far too much sugar in my diet at the moment that could easily be avoided to start with. (Damn you donuts and chocolate) Just by starting off by cutting back slowly more and more will really help. I’ve cut sugar out of my tea times to start since I drink so much tea and am starting to really pay attention to the amount of sugars in things before eating them and considering the healthier options during the rest of my daily diet more often.

3. Make exercise a daily routine
(Eye rolling) I know already, who doesn’t make this their main resolution but it’s the difference to keep with it and not just say it, a little bit of exercise in your daily routine makes a whole lot of difference. Without sounding like everyone else’s typical fitness resolution I’ll keep it simple and say I’ve joined the gym and am determined to become a fitter and healthier me in 2015, fingers crossed to the unrealistic VS model beach bod dream, but there’s no time like the present to try and kick ass as much as I can to get there!

4. Use and enjoy things
I have the worst habit of saving products and clothes or other things like accessories for ‘best’ or special occasion days, then what happens, I don’t end up using them very much or at all! (So stupid) Thats changing as of now I’m using and enjoying all the little things between products to clothes and all the little things between. My favorite perfumes or more expensive make up and skincare products etc. They are all the ‘best’ for a reason so I might as well use and enjoy them now. “I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness.”

5. Drink more water
Not to mention the health, skin and teeth benefits of just drinking that much more water daily but there are far too many benefits to drinking lots of water all day everyday! I’ll have some water with that thanks!
